We (I and my wife) had a great trip to this piece of Holland in the Caribbean. The Divi Aruba All Inclusive resort was wonderful. It has a large uncrowded beach, lots of sun, friendly staff, good food, and nice people. Facility is a little older but we liked it. Weather was great.

Food was good. We enjoyed the Blue Parrot Restaurant the most (inside and outside). It’s only open for dinner and you must make reservations but this was never a problem as long as we were flexible about the time. We tried the Italian restaurant (inside only), also only open for dinner. Did not think the food was as good as the Blue Parrot. The buffet restaurant was always good with a good selection. It’s outside near the beach. A wonderful view but you have to enjoy eating with a few bugs and birds. Sometimes getting drinks at the buffet restaurant was a little trouble. We liked the casual dining. Shorts, shirts, and shoes were all that were required but you could dress up if you liked.

Night life is slow at the Divi Aruba All Inclusive, just the way we like it. If you are looking for an energetic party atmosphere, this is not the place for you. There is some traffic noise from the nearby road but it did not bother us.

Rooms did not have screens on the doors so you had to keep the doors closed and the air conditioner running. They told us to keep the burglar bar down on the door but we always felt safe. The air conditioners in both of our rooms were a little noisier than we would have liked. Swam and snorkeled on the beach at the resort. Tipping was not expected but appreciated.

You can use dollars easily in Aruba. No need to worry about getting local currency. We drank the local water the entire trip and had no problems. It’s easy to get around by bus or taxi. Cost of taxi from airport was $18 one-way. Cost of taxi to downtown was $8 one way. You pay by the taxi not by the person. It cost $2 per person, round trip, to take a bus downtown that ran every twenty minutes from a bus stop in front of the resort.

To sum up: a great resort and a great trip. We are looking forward to come back next year.

As with anything else in this world, you are going to find a plethora of different garbage disposals to choose from for your kitchen. While it is always nice to have options, it can be a bit overwhelming looking at the various options. To make things easy on yourself, take the time to look at a new In-Sink-Erator garbage disposal.

The new In-Sink-Erator garbage disposals introduce new technologies you will find with no other manufacturer. With the MultiGrind and SoundSeal, it takes care of the two most common requests and features people are looking for with a garbage disposal.

The first thing it does is improve the grinding ability of the system. You do not want to have a garbage disposal that will grind certain pieces of food you throw down the sink and not others. This is especially true when running a kitchen in a restaurant as you will be throwing a wide array of foods down the sink. Some of the foods that typically are difficult to grind up include celery and potato peels.

The next feature people are looking for is reduced noise. A new In-Sink-Erator garbage disposal has been said to be 60 percent quieter than any other system on the market. The Evolution Series within this manufacturer is the most efficient and quietest line that is available today.

Having a powerful, efficient, and quiet garbage disposal is an important piece of restaurant equipment. You are going to be throwing a wide array of foods down the disposal making it all the more important you have a legitimate disposal to work with.

Whether you are replacing an old unit or designing a new kitchen, having a Sink Erator garbage disposal is the best option. You will be able to dispose chicken bones, fruit rinds, coffee grounds and much more. Once throwing it down the disposal, the food will virtually liquefy into your sewage system.

Large restaurant equipment like this can be quite expensive to ship. If you go through JES Restaurant Equipment, you will receive free freight with your purchase of any garbage disposal. This is something you do not want to pass up on.

As you begin to look for the right garbage disposal unit for your kitchen, take the time to look at the In-Sink-Erator unit. It offers features no other unit has to offer with an improved grinding ability and reduced noise. Overall, it will function far better than anything else on the market.

The restaurant and hospitality sector are increasingly turning towards computers and business software applications in order to run their businesses more efficiently, ultimately with the intension of saving on costs. It is crucial for any restaurant business wishing to compete, to select the very best restaurant POS software suite available to help in running there business.

While not all business owners are comfortable with restaurant pos technology it can be a huge asset and vital to any hotel or restaurant wanting to trade almost immediately after installation, thus saving money on training time, stock control, payroll and ultimately wages.
Streamlining your business operations can mean the difference between failure and success. In the world of hospitality if you don’t keep pace with your competitors you could see yourself loosing your customer base, for more details visit to www.pure-profit-software.com through promotions and cheaper offers by smoothly run establishments operating restaurant software.

Restaurants are certainly no exception to this idea and having a good hospitality software suite for your restaurant or hotel is vital to being successful. While there may be times when external factors can make a difference to your success, using the right hospitality software can significantly increase your chances of success and give you the edge over your competitors.

If your still deciding on a software suite which is right for your business, make sure you look for a restaurant software suite that is robust, upgradeable, great value for money and above all easy to use. You need to be sure that the hospitality software you evaluate can be adapted to suit your needs. If the software is rigid and allows for no flexibility you will be unable to adapt it to suit your business needs as your business grows causing problems for the future.

Business Software, and Hospitality Software, should be quick to install, easy to use, intuitive and not require weeks of training; it should be fully modular, flexible and upgradeable to grow with your business. Additionally, you need to look for restaurant software that will run on your computer systems. If you are planning to operate with multiple tills you need a good backup system for safety, for more details visit to www.software-designers-pro.com a system that will replicate your master data file to another machine making sure you don’t loose data in the event of a system crash?

You need to ensure that the software you select will allow multiple hardware configuration, payroll integration and data export to sage or quick-books. Most users will have at one time or another used a computer running on a windows operating system, many of the professional scalable point of sales and hospitality software solutions are written specifically with windows in mind.

A final consideration that you should take into account is the need to have software that will be able to move swiftly. Most good restaurants are extremely busy during peak times and need a restaurant POS system that will work quickly and not freeze or crash during constant use. A good software may not be cheap, but it will certainly help you to ensure that your business runs smoothly allowing you to concentrate on other areas of your business.

A priority for any business is support, make sure you have the option of telephone support or virtual network connection support similar to yahoo and msn messenger this will be an optional extra with any good pos software providers and worth its weight in gold, if your systems go down and you are unable to trade.

It goes without saying that the software developers know far more about the system than anyone. An over looked point that many clients have regretted from my experience; make sure that whoever you purchase the software from can offer out of hours support should you need it, also a company in the same time zone is a very useful commodity.

I need to know all the staff positions needed to run a restaurant similar to the size of Chilies like waiters, chef positions ect

I can’t find any info on a good list…

I worked in one for years more to mention this was the break down. Now granted some of these are needed for both shifts and add about 2 to every position for weekends and special holidays.
1 General Manager (usually opened)
2 assistant managers (swing shift close shift)
1 Kitchen Manager – usually only worked days or 11-8
you need 3 cooks on the line and at least 2 prep cooks at night and 3 in the day(both Shifts)
about 2 to 3 bus boys(both Shifts)
1 to 2 hostess during peak hours (both shifts)
1 bartender (both Shifts)
1 bar back – unless you use bus boys for it
7 waiters or waitresses (1 being head waiter/waitress) both shifts.
1 food runner during Fridays and Saturdays or special holidays Usual a wait staff member
Hope that helped

Are you planning to buy a shop? rent one? thats what costs alot, it could cost u hundreds of thousands!

Menus arnt that much to make, however I would worry about the kitchen equipment and you need A LOT of safety cerficates etc. I personally believe its a bad idea to start a resturant in a time like this.

I would personally buy a trailor for about £10,000 then do it up and go to events etc and sell burgers or something?

WE R running a restaurant , AND RENOVATING IT ON AN TRADITIONAL INDIAN THEAM. SUGGEST WHAT IS IMPORTANT. THE FOOD , SERVICE OR THE AMBIENCE. EXPLAIN…THANKS IN ADVANCE.

To me its all of the above but service, food and ambiance are the order of importance for me. I often find myself going to places because the food was great or because the service is great.

If the food is great but the service is bad, I tend to lose interest after a while. It becomes frustrating if you get poor service and that starts to weigh down on the experience.

If I reflect on my favorite places to eat, they are often hole in the wall type places but thats just me.

My advise – Make sure your guest is never ignored, right from the moment they enter to the moment they leave, make sure you have an eye on them. Treat them like you would treat if your senior family member were visiting. Also, get to know your long-term patron’s preferences and names. It never hurts to say….Good afternoon Tim, Welcome back….we have your favorite Palak paneer on the menu today.
